Where Monastery Architecture and the Enjoyment of Wine Combine for a Unique Experience

Our wine tasting tours always begin with a tour of the Monastery during which you will learn many interesting things from its eventful history. During the tour, you will be able, at the same time, to experience the Monastery with all of your senses. Let your eyes be fascinated by the impressive rooms of the Monks' Cloister, which once were strictly reserved only for the use of the ordained choir monks. Let your ears be filled with the reports about the Cistercian Order and the history of Eberbach. Feel the chill of the historical monastery vaults and the atmospheric wine cellars. And finally, become enthusiastic about the fine bouquet and the aromatic taste of the wonderful wines served there. All of the wines which you will taste here have been produced by the Hessische Staatsweingüter Kloster Eberbach, which today still cultivate a key area of the former Monastery vineyards.

The following wine tasting tours are available:

Cabinet Wine Tasting	for 10 persons or more, wine tasting (standing) in the "Fraternei" ("Cabinetkeller")
Hospital Wine Tasting	for 10 persons or more, wine tasting (standing) in the Old Hospital
Burgundy Wine Tasting	for 10 persons or more, wine tasting (standing) in the "Fraternei" ("Cabinetkeller")
Strolling Wine Tasting Tour	for 15 persons or more, wine tasting at six different locations within the Monastery
Traditional Wine Tasting	for 20 persons or more, wine tasting in the "Hospitalstube" with professional commentary by the wine tasting guide

Our wine tasting tours are normally offered as events for groups. However, we would also like to make this unique experience here in the former Cistercian abbey available to single persons and smaller groups. To do so, we offer special open wine tasting tours every first and third Friday of the month (from April through December), the >Friday Wine Tastings, for which we also offer gift certificates.
